Although I had always loved painting and drawing as a child, I stopped doing it completely in my late teens and didn't resume until I was in my late 40s. But I've been busy going at it since then.

This introduction would not be complete without the two self-portraits representing the way back then and the here and now.

On the left is my first self-portrait in pencil from 1980. On the right is my second self-portrait in oil from 2024.

I suppose the real me can be found somewhere in the middle between these two versions.
